Boston Tea Party has updated on developments, with strong half year results for the Group showing like for likes trading 10% ahead of last year and up 28% when including new stores.
Quality of offer
Customer footfall and average spends are reported to be growing across all day parts as customers appreciate the quality of offer across the breakfast and lunch segments.
The first 2 months trading of newest opening in Cheltenham has been very well received and surpassed expectations. Boston Tea Party Cheltenham has seen a trial of a more significant alcohol offer with a high degree of success. This will now be rolled out selectively across the estate coupled with extended opening hours.
The next new opening will be in Harborne in July 2014 which will be the 2nd site in Birmingham and brings the total site tally to 15.
Expansion plan
There is a strong expansion plan for the next few years and Boston Tea Party are actively seeking appropriate new site locations.
To support the recruitment, training and development of the teams, Hannah Frude has just been appointed as Head of People. Hannah brings a wealth of industry experience from previous roles at Hilton Worldwide and Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant.
3 star SRA accreditation
The Group recently attained the highest level 3 star sustainability award from the Sustainable Restaurant Association demonstrating its ongoing commitment to top quality local ingredient sourcing. Boston Tea Party are proud to be one of the few operators in the casual dining sector who care about the quality of ingredients to the extent that they only serve free-range meat and organic milk.
