As Carluccio’s opens its 80th UK site at Heathrow’s T4, the Italian restaurant group has announced its plans for further international expansion.
By the end of 2014, the group will open an additional seven overseas restaurants, growing the international portfolio to 15 stores. Two more sites will open in Turkey and also Dubai with a second earmarked for both Abu Dhabi and Ireland. The group will also launch in the US, for the first time this Autumn, with a 6,482 sq ft unit in the suburb of Alexandria in Washington.
The new site in Heathrow T4 is Carluccio’s first airside location in a UK airport – situated adjacent to the walkway to Gates 10 to 25, where 50% of T4 passengers pass through – and will offer 102 covers, plus 10 bar seats, within the 3,081 sq ft space.
Simon Kossoff, Chief Executive, Carluccio’s Limited comments:
“Carluccio’s is entering a period of faster international growth alongside our continuing UK roll out of between eight and 10 sites per year. It’s tremendously exciting to be proving our format outside the UK in a number of territories.”
