Turtle Bay sails into Walthamstow

By James Russell: Turtle Bay sails into Walthamstow

April 7, 2014

Turtle Bay – the Piper Private Equity backed Caribbean restaurant chain – has secured its first site in London, through Davis Coffer Lyons – the leisure specialists.

The expanding operator has taken a 4,000 sq ft corner unit at Cleveland Place – a mixed-use development on Walthamstow High Street, which will include a nine screen 1,200 seat Empire cinema, 5-6 retail/restaurant units and 121 new homes.

Turtle Bay serves a selection of authentic Caribbean dishes using only the very best ingredients from around the world in an eclectic and laid back environment.  These can be accompanied by a wide range of island drinks to enjoy at the beach bar.  It currently operates seven other restaurants in Birmingham, Leamington Spa, Leicester, Bristol, Nottingham, Southampton and Milton Keynes.

Jake Bernstone, Restaurant Agent at DCL said: “Turtle Bay’s recent investment from Pipers means it is well funded and is actively looking for further sites.  I believe it will fit in exceptionally well with the diverse, up-and-coming demographic of Walthamstow, which I have no doubt will fully embrace Turtle Bay’s food that is certainly in high demand”
