With the closing date for National Chef of the Year entries looming, the team at KNORR® has a piece of advice for would be competitors.
Can’t live without…
KNORR has been asking what top chefs, including current National Chef of the Year Hayden Groves and Young National Chef of the Year Ben Champkin, can’t live without in the kitchen. And it seems the magic ingredient could well be something all chefs take for granted.
Hayden said: “A spoon. Not just any spoon, it has to be my own. I have a lucky one that I’ve had for several years. It was part of the equipment I took with me when I won National Chef of the Year. Food is all about taste and you can’t taste food without a spoon.”
Ben Champkin echoed this sentiment: “It has to be a spoon. Every day in the kitchen is about tasting the food and making sure it’s perfect.”
Will a spoon prove to be part of the winning formula for the 2014 National Chef of the Year and Young National Chef of the Year winners?
