The Hospital Caterers Association has announced this year’s national Award Winners.
HCA 2014 Caterer of the Year

This Award is given in recognition and celebration of the significant contribution the individual has made to the wellbeing and recovery of the patient, the patient experience and to the staff and visitors who use their hospital services.

HCA 2014 Wilma Wilkie Outstanding Service Award

The Association was left a legacy by a former member, Wilma Wilkie who was very passionate about training and development so the HCA Outstanding Service Award has been renamed the Wilma Wilkie Outstanding Service Award. This Award places great emphasis on providing outstanding service to their customers. The winner must be a Full, Life or Honorary Members of the Association who has given many years of service to healthcare catering.

HCA Catering Service of the Year 2013

The Award is presented to a Catering Team providing patient services to an NHS Trust, where one person is a Full Member of the Association. The team must present details of its achievements during the previous 12 months and this must include patient and staff menus, Environmental Health Officer reports, staffing structure together with size of the unit and budgets.

HCA Chairman’s Choice 2014
The Chairman’s Choice Award is presented to the HCA Branch that can demonstrate that during the past 12 months that they have submitted the minutes of their meetings and their treasurer’s accounts, have held regular branch meetings, have education, training and social events and undertake activities to both recruit and retain members. The winner of the Award also runs a successful Branch events and activities.

HCA Conference 2014 Trade Stand Award
The Trade Stand Award is presented to the organisation that in the eyes of the judging panel had created an Exhibition Stand which was both informative and innovative for delegates and which was also welcoming with helpful information being provided about the products they supply to the industry.
