Battle is about to commence at one of London’s top cooking challenges, The Slider Decider. Professional chefs are invited to display their culinary creativity to make signature sliders in what promises to be the cook-off of the season taking place at The Gun, Docklands from 6pm on Thursday 5 June 2014.
Challengers will fight it out in the award-winning gastropub’s outside space overlooking the Thames in front of food fans from across the city and a stellar line-up of judges, including: Rebecca Seal from Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch; acclaimed restaurant critic Tracey MacLeod; London Evening Standard’s Food Editor Victoria Stewart; and Editor of Restaurant magazine (and self-confessed burgerholic) Stefan Chomka.
Who will be victorious and snatch the coveted Slider Decider crown from 2013’s winners? Last year, Opera Tavern’s Jamie Thickett and Ben Tish provided the best slider in show with their Iberico pork and foie gras with crispy pig’s head, salted liver, courgette relish, lettuce, aioli and guindilla creation.
The deadline for applications is 14 April so, if you’ve got what it takes to slide your way to the top spot, email Charlie@rochecom.com for your official application form.
