The Bordeaux International Wine Institute (BIWI), part of the INSEEC group – a leading provider of training programmes in wine marketing – hosted more than 300 students from 20 different nationalities in 2013/2014. The Institute has now decided to train students for the spirits industry with its new MBA – Spirits Marketing & Management.
The first batch of the MBA students will be hosted at the Bordeaux campus in October 2014 (October-January) and at the INSEEC campus in London for the rest of the programme (until March).
Laurent Bergeruc, Director of the MSc and the MBA at INSEEC Bordeaux said:
“The spirits sector has a huge potential. The worldwide turnover of the spirits industry is more than $300 billion, almost double than that of the wine industry. Companies, while recruiting, look for candidates who know this market and the requirements of the Supply Chain and Trade Marketing perfectly well.
“This new course is designed to meet the specific expectations of the sector and will be taught entirely in English by industry professionals.”
The MBA, which relies primarily on courses in brand strategy, international negotiation, laws and regulations, and on communication and online studies, offers its students the possibility of becoming specialists in the spirits industry. During the course, students will also be initiated in tasting, as well as to the production methods of different spirits.
