Great Northern Hotel
The Great Northern Hotel, built in 1854 by Lewis Cubitt and sited immediately adjacent to Kings Cross Station, was the world’s first purpose built railway terminus hotel. The hotel is designed to take advantage of its unique location. The Bar’s design is romantic in character, and the aspiration is to provide hotel guests and travellers with both respite and stimulus.
There will be a showcase of all three hotels in the Design Gallery & Lounge for the duration of the exhibition and they will feature in a special seminar presentation taking place on the Design Stage.
