Admiral Taverns, the current pub company of the year, has become the first independent pub operator to be accredited by the Good Practice Recognition Scheme, a nationally-recognised accolade from the industry’s professional qualification and awarding body, the BII.
The ‘Admiral Taverns Development Programme’
The ‘Admiral Taverns Development Programme’ was created by the company exclusively for its tenants and lessees, and contains three modules: Making Profit; Marketing and Merchandising; and Improving Standards and Improving Profit.
All elements of the development programme will now bear the BII logo, the national kite-mark for quality training across all sectors of business – a coveted endorsement by the industry’s professional body.
Suzanne Smith, Admiral Taverns’ Head of Licensee Recruitment and Training, said: “Training and development is a critical part of the business support we deliver to licensees and as such, we invest heavily in providing exclusively-designed programmes that help them develop sustainable and profitable businesses.
“We are delighted and proud to have received this national recognition and accreditation from the BII. We have always been confident that our in-house licensee development programmes are leading edge and represent the highest standards in training; receiving this award from the BII is acknowledgement of this. We also believe our licensees will appreciate the added value in receiving training that comes with national, industry accreditation.”
Companies seeking the BII Good Practice Recognition Scheme for their training programmes must submit to a rigorous vetting process, one that not only examines the aims and objectives of the training, but also how the programme is monitored, assessed and implemented.
