Online portal from Pelican provides complete purchasing visibility and budget control
Surrey, UK: Pelican, the procurement and supply chain management specialist, today announces that The Great Little Pub Company has introduced its Purchasing Intelligence (Pi) solution, to provide full visibility, management and control over the purchasing, budgets, stock and supplier invoices for its entire estate.
The group, which was formed in 2002 and owns three pubs in Sussex, Surrey and Berkshire, has adopted the Pelican Pi system, which provides the management team with a centralised dashboard so they can instantly review or track purchasing spend, analyse spend by category, monitor supplier contract compliance and track purchases against set budgets.

Pelican Pi helps operators to keep on track with purchasing expenditure, delivering alert notifications if budgets are close to being exceeded. In addition, invoices are automatically added by Pelican into Pi, meaning clients are not required to manually input purchase information, creating time savings.
Adds Greg: “Pi provides the advantage of being able to break down exactly what products are selling where. This is great for menu development and also for marketing promotions. So, for example if a liquor owner wants to run a volume-based promotion at one of my sites, I can immediately see the run-rate of what is selling and track the success of specific campaigns, without having to sit down and manually work it out.”
