New research published by NatWest and the British Franchise Association (bfa) highlights the continuing growth and importance, despite the recession, of franchising in the hotel, catering and food sector. According to their survey, since 2008 there has been an increase of six percent in the number of franchised outlets in this industry, so there are now 8,300 outlets – and include both well known and new names.
Opportunities at two leading franchise exhibitions
Many of these hotel and catering businesses will soon be continuing their expansion by offering great opportunities at two leading franchise exhibitions: The National Franchise Exhibition, taking place on the 14 & 15 February 2014 at the NEC in Birmingham, and The British & International Franchise Exhibition, which is at Olympia, London 14 & 15 March 2014.
Both exhibitions will showcase a wide range of exciting food and drinks based franchise businesses including McDonalds, Yo Yo Noodle, and Barnack Confectionery.
Other leading names that will be at The National Franchise Exhibition include Papa Johns and Quiznos, whilst at The British & International Franchise Exhibition, Bar Sport, Churchill’s, Llao Llao, Shawarma Express, Snack-In-The-Box, and Southern Fried Chicken will be exhibiting.
The exhibitions are endorsed by the British Franchise Association, the regulatory body for franchising in the UK. This means that visitors can be confident in the standards of all the companies exhibiting as they have met the Association’s strict code of ethics.
Seminar programme
Alongside the many exhibitors, there is a free, comprehensive programme of seminars presented by the bfa. At The National Franchise Exhibition, McDonald’s Franchising Recruitment and Reputational Consultant Brian Thorne will be among the speakers, while George Jeffrey, CEO of Quiznos Canada, will be delivering a keynote address on ‘Why we dare to be different – tasting is believing’ at The British & International Franchise Exhibition with Richard Forte, Chief Operations Officer of McDonalds, speaking about Franchising with McDonalds.
How to make money in a tough economy
The renowned High Investment franchising sessions at both exhibitions will be delivered by Eric Ho, founder of Yo Yo Group, who will explain how to make money in a tough economic climate and offer strategies on how to get through a recession in his ‘Rising through a Recession’ address.
The exhibitions will offer many free features to help enthusiasts understand more about the process of franchising with experts on hand to answer any questions.
Superb opportunities for investment
Adrian Goodsell, Head of Franchise Sales for the exhibitions, comments: “A visit to the exhibition is a must for any budding entrepreneur who wants to learn more about franchising as a whole. The catering sector is a large and diverse business area, containing some of the biggest, most established brands in franchising. This means that there are superb opportunities for visitors to achieve high returns on their investments.”
