Hotelympia joins ‘Craft Beer Takeover’

By James Russell: Hotelympia joins ‘Craft Beer Takeover’

February 18, 2014

With news that the UK is in the midst of a craft beer boom, Hotelympia is launching a brand new feature that will unite visiting operators with the people and the beers that are spearheading yearly market growth of almost 90%.

Putting craft beer on the menu

The UK’s most comprehensive event for the hospitality industry is launching Craft Beer Takeover – a co-located show-within-a-show to turn the spotlight on the growing army of small brewers that are increasingly important to the needs of sites across the hospitality spectrum. Craft beer is growing in popularity in restaurants and hotels as well as pubs and bars as the discerning consumer becomes more knowledgeable and demanding of a better drinks selection. As new breweries resurrect old beer styles it’s becoming essential for establishments to reinvent their offering with a strong craft beer selection to take pride of place on menus.

‘Hoptimise Your Business’

Toby Wand, Managing Director at Fresh Montgomery, said: “The craft beer market is expanding rapidly and it’s not just pubs that are driving the trend. We hope to bring together the most innovative exponents with operators and breweries to create a mutually beneficial one-off hub of business activity. This really does represent the most accessible and direct route to taking a slice of a market which has, single handedly, provided the biggest quarter-on-quarter increase in general beer sales this century.”

Craft Beer Takeover, which is being marketed with the slogan “Hoptimise Your Business” will run throughout the four days of Hotelympia (April 28th – 1st May, ExCeL, London).

Visitors can go to www.hotelympia.com to see how the revitalised show can benefit their business and register now for a free ticket, saving the £25 entrance fee.
