Brian Clivaz, Chairman of Coq d’Or and Langan’s Restaurant Groups, and Laurence Isaacson, co-founder of Groupe Chez Gerard, have bought Soho’s iconic L’Escargot Restaurant.
L’Escargot, of course, is famous not only for its food but for its mirrored walls hung with work by artists such as Miro and Chagall.
Plans include delivering ‘traditional bourgeois cuisine without any twists’, as well as turning the upstairs floors into a private dining club.
Head Chef will be Oliver Lesnik, whose experience includes working with Michael Bourdin, J-C Novelli, and Angela Hartnell. Most recently, he has been Head Chef & Food & Beverage Manager at Great Taste at The Cadogan.
