Ampersand – which offers bespoke catering for some of the most famous venues in Britain – has announced that it has been awarded the contract at Compton Verney – the award winning art gallery in Warwickshire. Ampersand will help the existing team enhance the overall visitor experience in the gallery’s 10th anniversary year.
Compton Verney is located near Stratford-upon-Avon and is a state of the art Gallery housed in a Grade I listed Georgian mansion surrounded by 120 acres of parkland landscaped by Lancelot “Capability” Brown in 1769. It is now ten years since the gallery opened to the public, an anniversary which is being celebrating with events throughout 2014 and a magnificent sculpture exhibition, Moore Rodin, comprising works both in the landscape and inside the gallery by Auguste Rodin and Henry Moore.
Ampersand’s contract to provide visitor catering and events services exclusively at the venue is worth approximately £2.5 million over five years. On site, Compton Verney has a 100 cover waitress serviced restaurant offering high quality a la carte dining, and a café which offers visitors a more informal option. Both are open Tuesday to Sunday between mid-February and mid-December. In the warmer months there will also be a mobile facility and pop-up units in the grounds selling ice-cream and drinks. Ampersand will also be providing the catering for hire events at Compton Verney such as weddings, private parties and product launches.
