The traditional New Year’s party is back with a bang this year as 61% of British adults are planning to bring in 2014 in a celebratory style. As a result, Travelodge has reported that over half of its hotels across the country are completely booked out by revellers, in response to more people wanting to go out and party.

And, as we enter 2014, 43% of Britons have reported that they are heading into the New Year feeling more positive than at any point in the past five years.
These findings have been revealed in a new report conducted by Travelodge, who surveyed 2,500 adults across the country to find out the nation’s plans for this New Year’s Eve – in response to the company seeing a double digit growth in room bookings for New Year’s Eve.
Travelodge has reported that over half of its hotels across the country are completely booked out, and a further quarter (75% of hotels in total) are more than three quarters full. Many of these expect to sell out with walk in bookings – as partygoers who struggle to get a taxi home opt to stay over.
Interestingly Travelodge data reveals that it is not just its city centre hotel locations that are sold out for tonight but also well known British tourist destinations such as the Cotswolds, Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, Torquay and Windsor.
