New beer brand waves Two Fingers to prostate cancer

By James Russell: New beer brand waves Two Fingers to prostate cancer

January 24, 2014

Men across the UK can now help to fight prostate cancer simply by having a beer.  All profits from Aurelio, a delicious artisan craft beer created by the newly formed Two Fingers Brewing Co., founded by seven friends who work in advertising, will help fight the battle against the most common cancer in men.

Aurelio, a refreshing, clean and crisp 4.8% golden ale is the only beer in Britain that uses all of its profits to fight prostate cancer. It launches exclusively through 200 Tesco stores and at least 10p from every bottle will help to fund Prostate Cancer UK.

Health before profit

The beer has been almost two years in the making, ever since seven guys from advertising agency Karmarama decided to use their love of craft beer and marketing expertise to create a beer brand that wasn’t just better tasting, but better for men everywhere.  So, they founded Two Fingers Brewing Co. – the only beer brand in Britain that puts men’s health before profit margins, by using all its profits to fight prostate cancer.

Following a successful test run with a local brewer, sold to family, mates and colleagues, the Two Fingers team have spent a year creating a network of partners and suppliers to bring their beer to the nation – with all agreeing to work at or near cost, to show their support for the cause.

What does “all profits to Prostate Cancer UK” mean?

That means all of the profit that Two Fingers Brewing Co. makes from selling its beer is donated to Prostate Cancer UK – with a guaranteed 10p per bottle minimum.  Like everyone, Two Fingers Brewing Co. has bills and tax to pay, and they need to re-invest to grow, but Two Fingers Brewing Co.’s suppliers and retailers all help, by giving them favourable rates.

Brewed and bottled by Hepworth & Co

Aurelio is brewed and bottled at cost by award-winning Sussex craft brewery, Hepworth & Co. The flagship beer has the refreshment of a lager and the fine flavours of an ale, for all beer lovers to share and enjoy, and is brewed with 100% British ingredients, carefully blended for a complex aroma and perky citrus flavours that spring to the palate.

Enjoy a great taste AND fight cancer

Matt Sadler, Co-Founder of Two Fingers Brewing Co. said: “We’re giving men a beer they can be proud of.  Aurelio is a top quality, great tasting brew that makes it a pleasure to join the fight against the most common cancer in men. This is one small sip for man, one giant gulp for mankind.”

Mark Bishop, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “Prostate Cancer UK is about engaging with men of all backgrounds and interests, using a range of new channels. It’s about creating a movement for men’s health and uniting men against prostate cancer. With a shocking 1 in 8 men in the UK at risk of the disease we need to be reaching out to them. It is with the support from organisations such as Two Fingers Brewing Co., that we can continue to do this. We thank the team for creating Aurelio and raising funds to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life.”

Aurelio, which is 4.8%ABV, means golden in Latin. It will cost £1.89 a bottle.
