Mezze Restaurants, based in the South West, is achieving record sales as people kick-start the New Year with a healthy eating regime. After overindulging and piling on a few pounds over Christmas, the majority of people tend to begin the start of a new year by pledging to eat healthier, and 2014 is no exception.
As a result, Mezze Restaurants’ six venues have recorded a 30 per cent growth in sales since the start of January.
A taste of the healthy Mediterranean
Alex Tryfonos, Mezze Director, said: “Having spoken to a number of customers, they say we are the place to go for health conscious individuals.
“This is because our menu offers a taste of the Mediterranean, where people live unusually long and healthy lives— with some residents making it to age 100 or older.
“The Mediterranean diet has also been linked to lower rates of cancer, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, and most recently – heart disease.
“And although we can’t adopt all aspects of the Mediterranean lifestyle, here at Mezze we can incorporate in our menu some of the eating patterns and dietary traditions practiced there.
Not just healthy – delicious
“The best part is that eating Mediterranean food is not only healthy; it’s also delicious, which is why I believe we have seen this spike in revenue across all of our sites.
“We are one of a few places where people can eat healthily and therefore the vast majority of people on a diet choose to visit Mezze, so they can eat out without huge calorific consequences.”
The Mezze menu offers a range of dishes from the Mediterranean, Morocco and Spain, as well as boasting vegetarian and gluten free meals.
