Cathedral Group Plc has exchanged contracts with the London Borough of Bromley to buy the Grade II listed Bromley Town Hall. As pictured above, this is a superb building that was once the centre of civic life in the town and the Group plans to turn it into a beautiful boutique hotel, wedding, conference and restaurant complex.
The acquisition of the South Street car park next door, where the Group will build a new residential scheme, will bring even more life to Bromley North.
St Mark’s Square scheme
Cathedral Group is already regenerating the south end of Bromley High Street with its St Mark’s Square scheme, where it is partners with the London Borough of Bromley in a £90m mixed-use PPP scheme to transform the southern end of Bromley Town Centre.
The Mark’s Square scheme (see below) is a new residential and leisure quarter with a landscaped public square surrounded by a nine screen multiplex VUE cinema, 25,000 sq ft of cafés and restaurants including Prezzo, Las Iguanas, Nandos, Turtle Bay and Bella Italia, a 130-bedroom Premier Inn hotel, 200 apartments and a new 400 space secure underground car park.
It started on site in April 2013 and the completion of Bromley South Central is expected in Autumn 2015.
