Brewing up business in the Midlands with Ringtons

By James Russell: Brewing up business in the Midlands with Ringtons

January 22, 2014

Enjoying a first-class cuppa in the Midlands is becoming easier: British tea and coffee merchant Ringtons has recently secured six new accounts to supply some of the region’s leading hotels with hot beverages and supplies.

The 106 year old company has agreed contracts with prestigious venues including the Barnsdale Hall Hotel in Rutland (pictured above) and its on-site self-catering lodges, and the Horsley Lodge Hotel in Derbyshire which was a finalist in the Derbyshire Restaurant of the Year award.

In addition, the company has secured new accounts with Quorn Grange Hotel, Leicester; The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford; the Heritage Park Hotel in Leicester and the Tollgate Hotel and Leisure complex in Stoke-on-Trent.

Ringtons Beverages division supplies the UK’s leading cafes, restaurants, hotels, and offices with high quality tea and coffee as well as catering equipment and barista training. The new contracts include the supply of Ringtons bedroom range of tea, coffee, herbal and fruit infusions and sundries as well as the supply of beverages for the on-site cafes and restaurants, installation and maintenance of espresso equipment and provision of catering accessories.

Ringtons does not sell its goods in traditional retail outlets, choosing instead to sell items directly to consumers online, through the company’s doorstep delivery service and via its new retail offering which sees the Signature range being sold by Ringtons Beverages’ suppliers such as hotels or cafes to their own customer base.

Ringtons is famously known for its traditional doorstep delivery service whereby its extensive range of products are delivered to the doorsteps of over 260,000 customers throughout the UK by more than 200 delivery drivers.

Established in 1907, Ringtons is a family business that started life when Samuel Smith began selling tea from a horse and cart to the households of Newcastle upon Tyne.  Today 106 years after Samuel Smith began his business, Ringtons remains a family business and continues to deliver door-to-door to over 260,000 customers throughout the UK, and many more worldwide via the online store.
