Aramark has retained and grown its contract with Robert Gordon University (RGU), after the opening of its new Riverside East building (shown above), to provide extended services across its campus in Aberdeen.
The renewed contract is underway and in place until 2019, with Aramark now providing services across eight catering sites instead of the previous six for the university’s 13,500 students and 1,500 staff.
Customer insight and the drive to deliver service excellence were at the core of Aramark’s proposals for the new contract. Aramark’s research led it to develop new food concepts, as well as offering a licensed Costa Coffee store in the new Riverside East building.
“We are thrilled that Aramark’s partnership with RGU is not just continuing but growing in scale”, says Deborah Burnside, Aramark Director of Operations for Aberdeen. “Our new and exciting concepts will help enhance the overall student experience, backed by an outstanding service. Initial feedback is excellent, and staff and students alike are enthused by the new food service in the Riverside East building.”
Granted university status in 1992, RGU offers over 300 courses. It was quoted in The Times Good University Guide 2013 as being the best modern university in the UK, for the fifth year running, and has been named the best UK university for employment by the Higher Education Statistics Agency.
