leading motorway services operator Welcome Break has been recognised as Retailer of the Year at the Payments Awards 2013, beating off stiff competition from Costa Express, the self-serve coffee bars from Costa Coffee, and Bleep UK, who provided the EFT and EPOS solution for the London 2012 Olympics.
The Payments Awards are held in association with FS Tech and Retail Systems magazines and Welcome Break successfully demonstrated that its integrated EFT solution has led to a considerable improvement in the overall efficiency of the organisation within the field of cards and payments, and that it ensures the company stands out from its peers.
Transformed the business
This EFT system, which has been implemented across all Welcome Break sites, has transformed the business, impacting both customers and staff members. As a result of this solution, each transaction is much faster, which is particularly important at peak times, and throughput has increased substantially.
Furthermore, Welcome Break’s EFT solution has dramatically simplified its back office reconciliation process, saving the team huge amounts of time and effort. It has achieved a cost benefit since its introduction, saving money on the system that was previously in place. The solution, delivered with technology partner Vodat International, also ensures Welcome Break is PCI compliant, with minimal changes to the EPOS system needed.
