The Spirit Group will be expanding its brands across the UK and has appointed Jenics and PH Land and Developments to locate up to 20 new sites over the next 15 months. The group, which was formed in 2011 following the demerger of Punch Taverns, has nearly 1,300 managed and leased pubs across the UK and plans to open 15 new branded operations this year.
Presence + value for money
Neil Bowler of specialist leisure and hotel practice Jenics comments, “These brands all have a strong presence in the market and offer great value for money. Spirit announced pre tax profits of 6% last week, in a year of tough trading conditions and these expansion plans are reflective of the strength of the mainstream pub food sector, where there is a market for the right product.
“For Flaming Grill sites we are looking for up to 6,000 sq ft internal area on sites of around 0.5 acres with ideally 30 car parking spaces. Fayre and Square is a more destination food led offer and is suited to prominent road side locations close to a wider retail, leisure and business offers. Slightly larger sites are needed to accommodate up to 50 cars. The Taylor Walker requirement is for traditional city centre pubs aimed at office and shopping lunch time trading.”
Jenics will be advising west of the Pennines to Southampton and PH Land and Developments the east from the borders down to the south coast.
