The Lanesborough announces renovation plans and auction

By James Russell: The Lanesborough announces renovation plans and auction

November 7, 2013

The Lanesborough has announced it will be undertaking an extensive renovation project as part of the hotel’s commitment to providing guests with unrivalled facilities and services. As a result of the planned renovation, it will close its doors on the 20 December, 2013 and re-open in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Designs by renowned designer Alberto Pinto

The new designs by world renowned interior designer, Alberto Pinto, will enhance all guest rooms and public areas.

The plans mark Alberto Pinto’s final project before his death last year, and will see his legacy live on at The Lanesborough. Alberto Pinto set the standard for ‘Haute Interior Design’, and he has become synonymous with some of the world’s most spectacular interiors.  His eclectic approach to residential decor and classic vision made him one of the most celebrated interior designers in the world, and perfectly complements the tastes and aesthetic of The Lanesborough.

The refurbishment will extend to all areas of the hotel including the 93 guest rooms and all Public Areas. During the closure, the hotel will continue to provide dedicated Reservations and Concierge services to their loyal guests.

Geoffrey Gelardi, Managing Director of The Lanesborough says: “Through Alberto Pinto’s talent and vision combined with the latest innovations, we will undoubtedly reaffirm ourselves as one of the most distinguished and luxurious hotels in the world. We look forward to unveiling a new era for The Lanesborough.”
