Nando’s, the successful and expanding chain of chicken restaurants, has been busy building profits even as it opened new outlets.
Accounts for the year to 24 February 2013 for Nando’s Group Holdings, the British business that operates both Nando’s and Gourmet Burger Kitchen, report turnover up by 15.6 per cent to £485.2m, and pre-tax profits doubling to £33.4m.
30 restaurants were opened in the year to 24 February, including five GBKs – Gourmet Burger Kitchen – which increased the Group’s total number of outlets to 343.
The group took over Gourmet Burger Kitchen in 2010 in a £30m deal which included The Real Greek brand that has since been sold.
