Guests stay Free if it snows at The Idle Rocks!

By James Russell: Guests stay Free if it snows at The Idle Rocks!

November 26, 2013

With winter now upon us and weather forecasts predicting 100 days of heavy snowfall, The Idle Rocks in St Mawes is reintroducing an offer it advertised back in the 1950s.

Guests staying at the boutique hotel will not be charged for their room for any day during which one inch of snow falls in St Mawes.

What’s the risk?

Due to Cornwall’s mild climate, it has not snowed in St Mawes since 2005. Average daytime temperatures in December are a comfortable 8°, reaching a high of 21 °C in recent years, a similar climate to that of the French Riviera.

However, with forecasters predicting snowfall in the coastal town this year, guests could be in for a Christmas treat!

The 20-room hotel, located on the water’s edge, is therefore the ideal spot to relax and celebrate the festive season in style, and away from the cold and fog threatening to cover much of the UK this winter.

Regardless of the weather, the Cornish hotel is the perfect setting to celebrate the festive season and spend a hassle-free, relaxing break, for either Christmas or New Year.
