Going for Hadley’s Gold!

By James Russell: Going for Hadley’s Gold!

November 4, 2013

There have been a number of successful ‘celebrity’ beers launched during 2013, most notably Iron Maiden’s Trooper. Now Ooberstock, the UK drinks wholesale business, is joining the party.

Ooberstock launches its first national cask ale programme, via its Cask Marque accredited distribution partner, Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics (KNDL), with an exclusive distribution deal in November to supply celebrity beer, Hadley’s Gold – a 4.0% cask smooth golden lager designed by Spandau Ballet’s front man, Tony Hadley.

Portfolio of celebrity backed drinks brands

Over recent months, Ooberstock has generated significant interest levels among retailers and consumers with an exciting selection of celebrity beers. These include Mr Trotters 4.0% from Lancaster Brewery (the team behind Mr Trotters Pork Crackling which includes Tom Parker Bowles, Matthew Fort and beer guru, Robert Ponsonby) and Gladness – a light gold beer designed by Suggs and the band from Madness (brewed by Growler Brewery in Essex).  The introduction of Hadley’s Gold will be a much-welcomed addition to Ooberstock’s fast growing portfolio of authentic celebrity backed drinks brands.

Arran Heal from Ooberstock says; “Cask and craft beer is definitely a great point of differentiation for many pubs and at Ooberstock we aim to be famous for providing our customers with a great choice from this category.  Hadley’s Gold is an example of this and we look forward to bringing other exciting brands to market over the next few months.”

The Ooberstock wholesale model brings cost and fulfillment efficiencies to its customers as a result of out-sourcing core elements of its services to industry leading specialists such as KNDL and BCW Group. This relationship, together with an affiliation with The Society for Independent Brewers, allows Ooberstock to offer a national programme supporting both small regional and national brewers from across the country.
