Ed’s Easy Diner opened in Watford this week at the newly rebranded intu shopping centre (formerly known as The Harlequin) and announced they will be opening in Westfield Derby on 19 November and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in York on 10 December.
Located on the Upper Mall, the 2,540 sq ft, 113-cover site will be the group’s 21st diner and follows a recent survey by foodservice analyst Horizons listing Ed’s as third in a top ten of ‘One’s to Watch’, tracking the fastest-growing restaurant brands in the country.
As Ed’s continue to roll out their retro 50s diners across the UK, the group are focused on expanding by a further 15 sites before the end of 2014.

“As we come to the close of a very successful year for Ed’s, we’ve found that some of the openings have performed well above expectations, such as Metrocentre in Newcastle, Meadowhall in Sheffield and now Watford. We now head to high footfall sites Westfield Derby and McArthurGlen in York in the coming weeks and hope to see trading at similar levels going into 2014.”
Ed’s continue to work with the Springboard charity on each new opening, employing young, unemployed or disadvantaged people from the local community into a career in hospitality.
