Takeaway Innovation Expo 2013

By James Russell: Takeaway Innovation Expo 2013

October 28, 2013

An all-new exhibition aims to champion innovation in the takeaway industry, with 5,000 visitors expected to attend for the chance to see 120 exhibitors, 85 seminars and workshops across two days at Olympia London, 28-29 November.

While most industry sectors are struggling in a challenging financial climate, it seems that the UK’s takeaway industry is weathering the storm well. It’s worth a staggering £10billion annually, showing a growth of 1.7% every year in the last five years. In fact, the average British consumer now spends over £100 a month on 12 takeaway meals, which equates to more than £1,300 a year. As a result, interest in the sector is high amongst entrepreneurs looking for a profitable venture. Not only does Takeaway Innovation Expo 2013 offer genuine insights into the industry to anyone considering it, but the exhibition also aims to support forward-thinking takeaway owners as they seek inspiration for innovation in their outlet.

To do this, Takeaway Innovation Expo gathers together 120 exhibitors presenting everything from franchise opportunities to cutting edge kitchen hardware, EPOS systems and online ordering solutions. The exhibitor list includes big names such as Andromeda, Baskin-Robbins, Caterquip UK, JJ Food Service, Lloyds Bank, Payleven and Rational UK Ltd, while the exhibition also features an unrivalled array of the very best keynote speakers. Already confirmed to speak are key spokespersons from Saatchi & Saatchi X and Baskin-Robbins; Pizza Hut UK Managing Director, Mark Fox; Andrew Walker, former MD of Pret A Manger; and TV and radio personality, Dr Lisa Ackerley  – The Hygiene Doctor. Other speakers include JUST EAT, LinkedIn, Facebook, Doug Richard (former ‘Dragon’), Ajmal-mushtaq (Best Delivery Restaurant / Takeaway in Britain 2012), and Clive Rich (The £10bn Negotiator.)

Takeaway Innovation Expo also boasts insightful seminars from catering professionals who work in the sector every day, along with the most respected thought leaders from the world of business, while the interactive workshops explain the digital restaurant of the 21st century, how direct mail can boost business and the benefits of digital signage. The innovative show feature, Taste Live, enables visitors to sample new products for their takeaway and find out what is involved in preparing them in their own kitchen.

Sponsored by JUST EAT, show partners and supporters include The British Hospitality Association, BusinessesForSale, the Federation Of Bangladeshi Caterers, the Nationwide Caterers Association, and The Craft Guild of Chefs.

Takeaway Innovation Expo 2013 takes place at Olympia London on 28-29 November. Tickets are completely free and you can register now at www.takeawayexpo.co.uk
