Restaurants Etc Ltd whose portfolio include five Hix Restaurants and the sixteen month old chicken & steak concept Tramshedin London’s Shoreditch have announced they are to open a 5,000 sq ft restaurant & bar in the city in November this year. It will open on the site currently occupied by Sushinho on Devonshire Square, Bishopsgate.
The ground floor restaurant with a 100-cover dining room will offer Mark Hix’s simple chicken and steak focused menu which has been enormously well received in Shoreditch. The concept offers a straightforward menu offering a choice between chicken and steak. With both quality and value being at the core of the concept, diners can opt for a whole Swainson House Farm roast chicken for 2-3 to share, including chips for £25, a 250 or 500 g Glenarm mighty-marbled steak at £20 and £40, a 1kg porterhouse at £69 or kilo rib steaks coming in multiples of 250g all served with chips and Bearnaise, along with the option of starters and desserts. The intention will be to offer a similar experience to Tramshed in the city.
The site will also be home to a second Mark’s Bar, which will be housed in the basement offering a similar cocktail menu and food experience to that of the award-winning Soho outpost, and will benefit from a 2.30am license.
Mark Hix said of the deal ‘This is a hugely exciting acquisition for us, we’ve been looking to open a site in the city for some time and this site meets our criteria on many levels, not least because it has a great basement where I can open our second cocktail bar Mark’s which we are very fond of in Soho.’
