Major developments by HMSHost in East Midlands Airport and Eurotunnel

By James Russell: Major developments by HMSHost in East Midlands Airport and Eurotunnel

October 22, 2013

Autogrill Catering UK, operated by HMSHost International, a world leader in operating food and beverage concessions in airports, is taking significant steps in concept innovation and expansion at travel venues in the United Kingdom. Eight food &beverage locations will be opened on the UK and French sides of Eurotunnel. Additional HMSHost will operate seven new outlets at East Midlands Airport.

East Midlands Airport

At East Midlands Airport HMSHost is opening seven new restaurants as part of the airport’s £12 million re-development, presenting a variety of proprietary and branded concepts that will provide travellers with an experience that is authentic as well as delicious.

Bringing the region’s rich cultural heritage and diverse tastes to travellers and visitors, HMSHost has recently opened the customised concept Pork & Pickle English Delicatessen, which is a coffee and fine food concept that provides passengers with a true sense of the region through quality products.

Planned outlet Castle Rock Taproom & Kitchen is a unique bar concept, celebrating Nottingham’s famous Castle Rock Brewery that started in the 1970’s. The friendly and welcoming pub will offer a wide selection of beverages and mouth-watering dishes made of the freshest ingredients.

Additionally, Leon will make its entry at the airport, as well as two outlets of the coffee shop concept Flat White, Burger King,  and the ‘to go’ concept GrabandFly. All outlets will be built in phases and the complete array of hospitable venues will be open for guests in the next six months.

Eurotunnel

On both sides of the Eurotunnel, new hospitality venues will open in the next twelve months.

On the English side at the Victor Hugo terminal, guests can enjoy the products and service of the natural fast food concept Leon as well as offerings from the well-known coffee brand Starbucks, Burger King, La Gare and Bagel Street.

On the French side of the Chunnel at the Dickens terminal in Coquelles, HMSHost will operate a Starbucks, a Burger King and Harvest Market, a food market with emphasis on fresh and local ingredients.

The estimated revenue during the ten-year contract term for these venues amounts to 100 million Euro.
