ebm-papst launches RadiPac into market

By James Russell: ebm-papst launches RadiPac into market

October 8, 2013

Europe’s leading manufacturer of fans and motors is set to expand its range of radial fans with the launch of the new RadiPac series.

The new medium-pressure standalone series joins the already established range of low-pressure radial plug fans with the GreenTech EC motor technology.

The newly launched RadiPac series offer a self-contained and compact solution, removing the need for variable frequency / inverter drives (VFD) and cost-intensive adjustments during commissioning.  As the motor and electronics in the motor system are already perfectly adjusted to one another, additional electronic filters, shielded cables or external motor protection are unnecessary.  The RadiPac series is available in three designs:

Support Bracket

  • For suspending on the unit wall with pre-assembled inlet ring and plate
  • Installation either shaft horizontal or vertical

Support Bracket +

  • Pre-assembled inlet ring and plate
  • Design enables the fan to be decoupled from the environment by means of appropriate vibration elements
  • Installation shaft horizontal

Cube

  • Pre-assembled inlet ring andfull frame
  • Stable cube design enables the fan to be decoupled from the environment by means of appropriate vibration elements
  • Installation shaft horizontal or vertical
    • The cube is not designed for suspending from the inlet plate!

The RadiPac cube design provides the user unique advantages during assembly, while ensuring safety during transport and less packaging waste.

The series is available in motor sizes up to 12kW with impeller sizes from 250mm to 1250mm in outer diameter.  What’s more, air performance levels up to 40,000 m3/h and pressure up to 1,800Pa are possible.

The optimised rotating diffuser impeller allows for efficient energy conversion in the impeller and excellent noise behaviour.

The inlet ring is used to guide the air into the impeller. The design for the inlet shape increases the filling level of the impeller and reduces turbulence, enhancing the efficiency of the impeller, resulting in lower noise. The correct position of the inlet ring to the impeller has a critical influence on the efficiency of the fan and on the noise emissions. The optimum position is factory-set, saving on installation, time and effort.

The RadiPac series is designed primarily for the Air Handling unit market but is flexible enough to have many other application uses.

In a class of their own

The new RadiPac fans significantly surpass the minimum efficiency requirements of the Eco-design Directive for fans that comes into effect in 2015. The motor efficiency levels for GreenTech EC motors are significantly above efficiency class IE4 and all products come with UL, CSA and GOST approvals.
