Leading foodservice distributor Yate Supplies is providing a new home for the Cath Kidson Antique Rose Gromit, following the successful auction of 5ft Gromits as part of this summer’s Gromit Unleashed campaign for Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Gromit arrived at the company headquarters in Yate Bristol to strains of “Ey up lad time for walkies” and was warmly welcomed by staff.
Finance Director Catherine Aston who bid for the dashing canine said:
”Staff could hardly believe the news on the night of the auction that we have a new member of staff – many had followed the campaign over the summer and staff and their families have been helped over the years by the care of Bristol Children’s Hospital. We are delighted to have helped such a great cause and are overwhelmed to have our own Gromit.”
Staff and Directors were bowled over to receive a congratulatory note from Cath Kidson herself after the auction. She said: “I wanted to thank and congratulate all of you at Yate Supplies for your overwhelmingly generous bid for our Gromit. We are thrilled he has gone to such a good home and were glad to be part of this amazing fundraiser. Very many thanks, and my best wishes to all concerned.”
Continuing the good work
Yate Supplies has plans for Gromit to continue to do good work for Bristol Children’s Hospital. Managing Director Derek Aston said:
“We are so proud of being the owners of a Gromit that we want him to continue to bring smiles and happiness to everyone, so we have plans for him to go out with us to support foodservice and hospitality industry events and have invited local primary and nursery schools to pay him a visit at our Bristol headquarters.”
