ARAMARK is celebrating another win in the further and higher education sector with a new contract with Northbrook College Sussex.
The three-year contract, with scope to extend for a further two, starts this September and is worth £1.9m over the initial three years.
ARAMARK will be providing food and retail services across the college’s three sites. At The University Centre Worthing, the company will be working with the college to design a new food court with traditional restaurant and ‘grab and go’ area, which is planned to open in January 2015. From September 2013 ARAMARK will be operating the site’s current food court and a convenience store.
At the 14-19 Centre, also in Worthing, ARAMARK will operate a new food court, cafe and shop, to be open from October 2013.
Meanwhile, at a third campus site based at Shoreham Airport, ARAMARK will deliver a substantial offer including traditional meals and a ‘grab and go’ service. The Shoreham campus hosts a specialist college for aircraft and automotive engineering students.
Tracey Smith, ARAMARK’s Business Development Director – Education, said, “Our successful tender supported three main drivers for Northbrook College – improving the student experience on site and so enhancing the appeal of Northbrook as a place to study, introducing value-for-money offers, and bringing some real benefit to the college by offering its students work experience and apprenticeships.
“We recently announced that we are employing a record number of students who are based at our education client sites across the country, and this is an approach which is proving extremely popular with both client and customer alike. More specifically at Northbrook, we have created two apprenticeship positions which will be filled by people working within our business and attending the college as a student on a day-release basis.”
Northbrook College is one of the largest educational establishments in Sussex, with approximately 850 staff and 13,000 full and part-time students. The college offers a wide range of courses from trade and professional qualifications to pre-university diplomas and university degrees.
