Kudos, part of the Crown Group, has been selected as the catering partner for the newly launched Heron Apartments, the slender 36 floor residential tower in Barbican, London which is a striking addition to the City skyline.
Concierge style of living
The apartments are a new-take on the concierge style of living, aimed at individuals who want luxury and service at their doorstep in the heart of the City. Life at The Heron has been designed to be effortless; the apartments and amenities have been created with the comfort, convenience and aesthetic aspirations of the residents firmly in mind.
Kudos will be responsible for delivering food and beverage services to the occupants and guests at the apartments which will range from the daily food orders to catering for private parties and functions.
In addition, Kudos will service the Club Lounge on the sixth floor which has been designed with a roof terrace and screening room to feel like a private members lounge and will focus on offering high-end food and cocktails.
Operational challenges
The apartments have a modern architecture to reflect the location and have an equally contemporary interior design. The living environments has been created for maximum lifestyle value and not compromised by the mechanics of an office, restaurant or commercial building. However, the impact of this strategy has meant there are no extraction facilities within the building, which in turn has led to several operational challenges for Kudos.
Having no extraction facility requires creative cooking methods such as thermo-mix heat technology and also impacts on the type of food offered on the menu.
