Jurys Inn Group has announced a £12.1 million extension project which will see Jurys Inn Islington on Pentonville Road become the 32 strong hotel group’s flagship hotel.
The 51 week project, due for completion in September 2014, will comprise of an extension and a complete refurbishment of the company’s first London hotel, which opened in 1998. A step forward in terms of design, Jurys Inn Islington will become the group’s flagship property showcasing what has developed over the last two years as a fresh direction, pairing original design features with sophisticated styling.
372 bedrooms +conference centre + gym
Construction will commence in September 2013 and will involve an extension of the existing hotel which will include the development of 143 new bedrooms, increasing the hotel’s accommodation offering to 372 bedrooms in total. Following the extension, 22 additional jobs will be created in areas such as food and beverage, housekeeping, reception and management.
There will also be a conference centre, located on the ground floor, comprising of seven state of the art meeting rooms which will continue to offer the AIM accredited ‘Jurys Meetings’ product. The largest room will cater for up to 90 delegates. To facilitate the changing lifestyle of guests, a gym will be included, as well as a complete remodelling of the lobby, restaurant and bar area. A Costa coffee bar will also be installed.
New direction in design and style

Refurbishment programme across Jurys Inn Group
The Islington extension comes as part of a wider refurbishment programme across the Jurys Inn group with over 1005 bedrooms and public areas having already received a complete makeover in 2012. Jurys Inn has earmarked a total spend of £25 million for projects up to the end of 2014 as part of an on-going refurbishment programme. The overall investment focuses primarily on refurbishments, but it also includes IT and systems spend which will allow Jurys Inn to deliver significantly enhanced services to customers.
