Following fast on the acquisition of the Little Chef Group, Kout Food Group k.s.c.c., a company listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange, has announced the acquisition of South West Coffee Ltd.
South West Coffee was Costa Coffee’s UK Franchisee of the Year 2010-11 and 2011-12 and currently operates eight outlets, with at least three more planned.
This marks KFG’s entry into the coffee segment in the UK. KFG’s portfolio of brands in the UK now includes Little Chef, Burger King, KFC, Maison Blanc, Cha Cha Moon and others. With this latest acquisition, KFG now employs nearly 3,000 people in the UK across over 160 stores. Costa Coffee is the UK’s largest coffee shop chain and has around 1,600 stores in the UK and operates in 28 countries internationally.
Kout Food Group is a Kuwaiti based company (part of the Al Homaizi Group) that also operates over 130 restaurants in Kuwait, and has been a franchisee of Pizza Hut for over 30 years, and of Burger King for over 15 years.
