Country Range Group (CRG), the wholesale group with 16 independent members throughout the UK and the Channel Islands, has announced that Coral Rose, the group’s marketing and projects manager, will succeed Colin Birchall as MD from 1 November 2013.
The new managing director said she was incredibly proud and privileged to take on the challenge in a year that saw Country Range Group celebrate its 21st anniversary and report a 26% year on year increase in turnover, which now stands at £320m.
“Colin is a founder member of CRG and over the last 21 years has done a fantastic job in establishing Country Range Group as the leading group in the UK and the Channel Islands, and, while the company continues to see impressive growth, there is still a lot of unexploited potential,” she said. “I am extremely excited to be leading the Group and look forward to working with both members and suppliers to further enhance their success.”
Coral started out in foodservice as marketing controller for Brakes (Watson & Philip), before moving on to RHM for manufacturing experience. Her role before joining Country Range Group in 2010 was as a consultant involved with creating marketing and brand strategies for foodservice companies including Premier, Farm Frites and DBC.
Country Range Group is unique in that it is about family owned businesses being able to offer fantastic service with flexible and local decision-making, whilst providing the benefit of national scale through competitive pricing, promotions and the Country Range brand.
With new members Hendersons, Valley Foods, Caterfood and Dunn’s Food and Drink coming on board over the last 18 months, the Group’s members, operating out of 25 depots throughout the UK and Channel Islands are uniquely placed to achieve an increasing share of the UK Foodservice marketplace.
