Like most classic British success stories, Browns prides itself on its humble beginnings. Founded in 1973, the very first restaurant resides in the sunny seaside town of Brighton and today lives on in 27 locations across the country.
Now, in its 40th successful year, Browns is celebrating its achievement with the launch of a book entitled ’40 Years In The Making’.
Starting in the 1970s, the book charts the changing times over four decades, from the fashions to the fads, and uncovers Browns’ history piece by piece in each chapter, making for particularly nostalgic reading. Poignant memories, anecdotes and treasured images from over the decades feature alongside dinner party secrets, accompanying cocktails and much loved recipes from Browns’ celebrated team of expert chefs and mixologists.
The one constant throughout is Browns with its timeless formula of fun and hospitality, having pioneered the art of casual brasserie dining in the UK.
Alongside the book, Browns has also celebrated its 40 years with a number of celebrity collaborations – including organising the 40th birthday celebrations of Peter Andre and Beverley Knight.
