The FT reports that Westbury Street Holdings – the parent company for Baxter Storey, Caterlink, Holroyd Howe, Portica and Benugo – will be reporting strong results this week, with overall sales in the year to 30 December up 15% to just over £466 million, though profits dipped slightly to £6.2 million under pressure of costs.
Highlights
– Baxter Storey: 65% of total sales, sales up 11.1% to £311.5 million
– Holroyd Howe – catering at private schools – sales up 35% to £30.4 million
– Caterlink – catering for state schools – up 18.2% to £52.9m.
– Benugo – the coffee bar and restaurant chain – increased 28.2% to £56.5m
Benugo expands
Flourishing under the twin forces of contract wins – including the British Museum – and ever-growing public demand for coffee, Benugo now has 10 cafes outside its catering concessions and plans to open 5 or more cafes every year – with overseas expansion a longer-term possibility.
