H & C News was pleased to attend the official launch event on 6 June for a new and undoubtedly prestigious venue: the new headquarters of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) at 30 Euston Square.
The Grade II* listed building spans six floors and covers over 121,000 sq ft, and is already proving a huge attraction to some of the UK’s largest firms, with several FTSE100 companies committing to use the facilities for conferences, meetings and events.
It provides some of the city’s most iconic meeting, event and accommodation facilities, managed by high-end events catering company Searcys.
As you would expect, therefore, not only did Searcys arrange for excellent weather (see pic of guests on the rooftop terrace), but the cocktails and drinks, tempting range of canapés and food, and the entertainers were all top order.
The venue
The grandeur of this Edwardian building has not only been protected, as required, but used to great effect in providing state of the art facilities not only for GPs, their training and examinations, but for the many other organisations that will run conferences, hold meetings, and arrange social and celebratory events (advance bookings for weddings are already strong!).
The building’s traditional features have been restored to their former glory and combined with the inclusion of state of the art AV technology and WiFi capabilities: 3D projector screens, digital signage and Dolby surround-sound speakers are set amongst beautifully preserved traditional oak panelling and vast Victorian atriums.
With flexible spaces and a varied range of backdrops, the venue can be tailored to all events from weddings to private banquets, large conferences to intimate meetings, with facilities including:

All catering is delivered by Searcys, which operates at some of London’s most iconic venues including The Gherkin, National Portrait Gallery and 10-11 Carlton House, ensuring exceptional service and beautifully presented cuisine to impress the most discerning of guests.
