The BBC reports that the sale of six of the Botanic Inns premises – the Botanic Inn, Madisons Hotel, the King’s Head, the Northern Whig, the Elms and the Fly – has secured 300 jobs within the group.
Nama, the Irish Republic’s assets recovery agency – owns these premises, which operated under the Botanic Inns Group, and has agreed to new leasing terms which allow Steven Magorrian, who previously ran them, and Horatio Taverns Ltd to resume control of the bars.
However, the remaining bars – which operated under the separate company Kurkova – remain in administration and for sale. It is understood that the administrator is confident of a sale, though it is possible that the bars will be sold individually.
