Major management changes for Pride Catering

By James Russell: Major management changes for Pride Catering

May 24, 2013

Pride Catering Partnership, the Guildford-based specialist caterer, is re-structuring its senior management team, as a direct result of the 73% sales growth the company has experienced over the past three years.

Joan Gilbert (pictured) has been appointed as Managing Director from her previous role of Business Development Director, where she succeeded in winning significant new business. Her new role will see her take responsibility for operations, business development and finance functions.

Janet Tulk has been promoted from Operations Manager to Operations Director of Pride’s Senior Living division. Janet has played a significant role since she joined Pride three years ago in growing what has become a major part of Pride’s business portfolio. Jim Estes, who has been promoted to Support Manager for the Senior Living division, will support her.

Primary and secondary education contracts

Pride Catering has won over £3m of new primary and secondary education contracts over the past year 3 years, predominantly as a result of referrals from other happy clients. To support this business sector with new openings and delivering exceptional service, Dianne Cook has been promoted to Area Business Support & Development Manager.

New roles for the founders

The founders of Pride Catering will also move into new roles. Roger Aldridge becomes Founder Director & Chief Executive and Tim Price becomes Founder Director & Chairman. They will continue to be heavily involved in the business and these management structure changes will enable them to focus on the strategic direction and leadership necessary for the company’s continued growth and success.

Tim Price explains, “Pride has been in business for 15 years now and, particularly over the past 3 years, we have experienced significant growth and developed into new markets such as Assisted and Supported Senior Living, where we’ve built an excellent reputation. We could see the market place for traditional healthcare was under pressure and were keen to be ahead of the curve as the sector evolved, which it has rapidly. In order to take the company to the next stage of its evolution and handle our projected new growth, it was imperative for us to invest in strengthening and expanding the senior management team now. It is especially heartening that we could make so many promotions from within our team.”

Pride Catering

Their passion is for fresh food, skilfully prepared and deliciously presented. Their partnership approach with clients and suppliers alike, supported by practical quality systems and experienced management, has led to the substantial growth of the company.
