La Tasca, the Spanish tapas business has reported that its turnaround has been completed.
La Tasca went through a restructure in 2012 and, as the new management team approaches the end of the first quarter of its third year since taking over the ailing business, it’s good news for the business.
The company reports that four years of sales decline have been halted, guest recommendation scores are at an industry-leading all-time high, and its company average score for the Council Hygiene Scores on doors scheme is well above four out of five.
Stage Two new La Tasca design
This week sees the launch of the brand’s “Stage Two new La Tasca design” at the Trafford Centre, coupled with its first new acquisition in New Brighton performing way above expectations.
During the last two years the current team has “radically overhauled every facet of the business but most importantly the quality of the food has changed beyond recognition”.
Business turnaround achieved in just two years
CEO of La Tasca Wilkinson said: “Every member of the La Tasca family has contributed to this very quick turnaround of the business. When you look at other companies that have had a radical turnaround within the casual dining market, the norm for traction is around three years, so to achieve this in just over two years is a massive achievement for the team. These are very exciting times for the business: rather than closing down sites we are now opening new restaurants and rubbing shoulders next door to competitors; and taking market share.”
He continued: “We are also about to embark on a comprehensive roll-out of our new look within all three concepts across the existing estate, as well as looking for acquisitions.”
