CH&Co’s 12 elite members of its Catalyst Club have completed their six-month training schedule: having been identified as the company’s stars of the future, these ‘graduates’ are now expected to become the next generation of CH&Co’s operations managers and directors.
Six modules over six months
The Catalyst Club itself is a programme comprising six modules over six months. The intensive course was developed for CH&Co by learning and development facilitation experts Noggin, who created an innovative tailored approach that, by probing individuals’ strengths and weaknesses, can develop self-awareness and pinpoint areas for the application of specific skills.
Through applying and practicing these skills in business scenarios, delegates are able to enhance their overall management performance and transform the effectiveness of their interpersonal communication.
Cascading knowledge throughout the business
Delegates participated in monthly off-site sessions, attended a residential weekend and completed a final management project, and during the process, were mentored by very senior directors within the CH&Co business. The 12 participants included individuals who work within Apostrophe, Historic Royal Palaces, The Law Society, and Visa – among others – and each will now adapt and cascade their new knowledge to a total of 480 managers and Head Chefs throughout the business in a series of twilight master class sessions.
CH&Co commitment to training
The Catalyst Club forms a central part of the company’s broader commitment to training across the business: earlier this year it announced its intention to invest a further £2m over the next five years and enhance its award-winning training plans. The company holds “Gold Champion status” with Investors in People – held by CH&Co alone in contract catering – and awarded to just 1.2% of organisations across all industries.
