Sales at TGI Friday’s, the American-themed chain, are reported to have risen rose 19% in the UK last year, shrugging off the economic environment and any economising by families on their consumer spending.
TGI Friday’s is owned by the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group of the USA, and again grew sales at over 7% during the year to December, though profits only increased marginally to £7.5 million under the pressures of food and other costs, and exiting certain leases.
TGI Friday’s has 55 restaurants in the UK, sees potential for up to 100, and has already announced its intention to expand with a further six outlets in 2013.
