Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, the UK’s largest privately owned hotel group has announced two new general manager appointments as it continues its drive to deliver the highest standards of service and product.
The new appointments come just a month after Macdonald Hotels & Resorts reported an operating profit, for the year ending 29 March 2012, before interest of £13.7m, an increase of 3% on the previous like for like year.
Macdonald Cardrona + Macdonald Crutherland House
Stuart Maxwell joins Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Spa in Peebles and Eileen Newman has taken the helm at Macdonald Crutherland House in East Kilbride.
With 24 years experience in the industry, Stuart has worked his way up from the bottom, starting out as pot washer at the age of fifteen, and has previously held general manager roles at Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club in Cheshire, The Marine Hotel Troon, Fairfield House Hotel in Ayr, and Edinburgh Capital Hotel.
Eileen joins from The Beardmore Hotel & Conference Centre in Clydebank, where VIP guests included Her Majesty the Queen on four separate occasions. With over 25 year’s industry experience, Eileen’s career began as a silver service waitress, before moving on to front of house roles and management.
