World famous Chelsea Flower Show celebrates its centenary this year, and forward-looking data from TravelClick, the leading hotel market intelligence provider, shows a blooming trade for London hoteliers with an average of more than a third of rooms already filled during the show dates.
London hotel occupancy during the show dates is at 35.8% on average, that’s an increase of 11.5% on the 2012 show dates. The night that sees the highest demand is currently the Saturday (25 May) when occupancy is at 50.4% – this may also be high because it is the night of the Champions League final which is taking place at Wembley!
Either way, hoteliers are reaping the benefits of increased demand as the average daily rate shows a rise of 16.2% at this point in the booking window. Group bookings also remain strong with an increase of 7.7% on the show dates for 2012.
The information is based on data pulled on 3 March 2013, from 88 London hotels with a combined capacity of 18,588.
