Great British Pork Crackling for Fuller’s

By James Russell: Great British Pork Crackling for Fuller’s

January 21, 2013

The pork scratching category may not be one that greatly concerns most of us, but apparently food writers Tom Parker Bowles and Matthew Fort with Cotswold farmer, Rupert Ponsonby, and pork scratching producer Graham Jebb of RayGray Snacks shared a dream: to create a new interpretation of the scratching made from 100% British pigs and using no added MSG.

The result: Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Crackling.

Fuller’s first

Fuller’s is the first pub major pub company to stock the snack, which will be available this January in Fuller’s 16 Ale & Pie pubs in London and Birmingham – to the natural delight of the two food writers!

Matthew Fort writes:

“A packet of Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Crackling and a pint of Fullers go together like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, only in a very British way. So Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace of Strictly Come Dancing fame, perhaps?”

And Tom Parker Bowles adds:

“Fuller’s is a proudly British brand, with great pubs, a fine history and brewers who really care about the ingredients in their beers. Mr Trotter is also proudly British. And we care as much about the quality and nurturing of our 100% British, Freedom Food approved, pigs as Fuller’s do of their special barleys and hops. I am delighted that Mr Trotter will be strutting his stuff in Fuller’s pubs.”
