Scheduled for opening in summer 2013 is the Sands Hotel, Margate, an upscale 20 bedroom boutique hotel with bar and 60 cover restaurant overlooking the highly regarded Margate Sands on the Kent Coast. Located on the seafront within 200 metres of the Turner Contemporary, the new hotel and restaurant, which will enjoy panoramic views out to sea, is being created within a Victorian building which had lain derelict for many years.
The hotel is the brainchild of Conrad Bigham, a hotel real estate specialist and Nick Conington, a former City investment professional.
“In recent years, Margate has been undergoing significant regeneration, including the development of the hugely popular Turner Contemporary, improvements to rail links to London and investment in the creative quarter in the Old Town.
