GVA has acquired the first UK store for Saffran Restaurants, a new healthy eating restaurant concept, within the Great Hall of the Trafford Centre, Greater Manchester.
Up to 30 further sites
Saffran will occupy the former Kro Bar unit within the Great Hall which measures approximately 3,000 sq. ft. with additional external seating, and have taken a lease expiring in July 2023. GVA is sole agent for the Safrran Restaurant chain in the UK and depending on the positive reception to the Trafford Centre site, has been instructed to identify a number of further sites for Saffran in line with its expansion plans to open up to 30 new sites in the UK over the next 5 years.
Favourite dishes delivered in nutritious and healthy way
Although originating from Iceland, Saffran is a fusion of international flavours and tastes. The chain has successfully expanded in to the US, opening a restaurant in Orlando, Florida and is now looking to expand the offer to the UK market. The restaurant takes inspiration from European and Mediterranean food cultures and mixes this with traditional cooking methods from the Middle East, using healthy ingredients to create simple yet inexpensive dishes without the use of white flour or white sugar and without any frying. Saffran aims to give people all their favourites like pizzas, burgers, and chicken dishes that are traditionally seen ‘sin foods’ and does these in a nutritious and healthy way with delicious results.
On the acquisition, Sammy Jones, associate, GVA, commented:
“It is exciting to be involved in bringing this unique new restaurant concept to the UK market. The Trafford Centre is a prime location with a consistently high footfall level, which will provide an ideal test bed to trial the concept in the UK. If successful, we will then work with Saffran to roll the concept out across the country.”
